Blue Moon
Mouna Barhdadi
In the whispers of the ancient city of Fez, Morocco, the Blue Moon of 2023 was a spectacle like no other. Inspired by the interplay between sky and earth that marked this unforgettable night, the "Blue Moon in Morocco" collection pays homage to Moroccan heritage through three jewelry pieces.

Each piece in this collection is designed to capture the essence of traditional Moroccan jewelry. From the moonstone that reflects the allure of the moon, to the orange sapphire that evokes the warmth of the streets of Fez, each stone is chosen to reflect contrast and harmony.
"Adorn yourself with the collection, let each piece act as a talisman, carrying within it the memories and magic of that mystical night under the blue moon." -Misha and Mouna (designers)

The earring
This modern earring is inspired by the ancient fibula, a piece of jewelry that transcends mere adornment to embody profound cultural symbols. In the hands of Moroccan artisans, the fibula was not only a functional item used to fasten clothing, but also a deep expression of identity, status, and personal values.

This earring is crafted from silver, a metal deeply rooted in Moroccan jewelry making. Revered for its luminous quality and brilliance, silver has historically been a favored metal. It is said to embody the very qualities of light, radiating goodness and possessing a magical power that invokes the moon and bestows grace upon the wearer.
Furthermore, our design incorporates elements that echo the traditional role of the fibula as a fertility marker. The pointed tip and rounded shapes of the design are a deliberate reference to the form and essence of the human body, as well as the energy of both genders.
In Moroccan culture, jewelry such as the fibula was much more than just an accessory; it was a narrative tool, allowing women to communicate their identity, social status, and aspects of their personal lives without using words.
Through its design and symbolism, this flagship piece not only adorns, but also creates a link, offering an echo of the ancient world in the modern era and continues to serve as a medium of expression.
The necklace
This necklace draws its inspiration from the mystical numbers 5 and 7. These numbers, deeply rooted in the Moroccan ethos, symbolize protection and perfection across various aspects of life, whether architecture or spirituality.
In homage to this meaning, we have adorned the 7-point silver chain, with a champagne diamond in its center and a citrine.
The integration of bronze and silver into its design pays homage to the tradition where the combination of two different metals was commonly used to create unique pieces.
This combination not only offered a distinctive aesthetic appeal, but also showcased the craftsman's skill in harmonizing contrasting elements into a cohesive piece.
Furthermore, the necklace features a symmetrical shape, further highlighting the emphasis on balance in Moroccan aesthetics. This symmetry, not only pleasing to the eye, also lends the piece a sense of serenity and completeness, a quality also found in art and architecture.
The ring
The blue moon of 2023 is a moment etched in the hearts of those who experienced it above the ancient city of Fez, Morocco. Inspired by this magical evening, a ring was created, embodying the beauty and mystery of that night.
At the heart of the ring is a moonstone, whose iridescent surface captures the glow of the blue moon, a jewel that seems to hold the mysteries of that night.
In addition to the moonstone, an orange tourmaline hangs gracefully, its hue evoking the orange lights that bathed the old town, casting a warm glow against the coolness of the moonlight.
The design is symmetrical in form, with a sharp upper edge that radiates outwards. It reflects the complex and contrasting aesthetic found in ancient Moroccan jewelry and motifs.

Sharp lines meet delicate round shapes, like the juxtaposition of the celestial spectacle of the night against the earthly lights of the city.
“These statement pieces, more than accessories, are tokens of a memory, crafted with the essence of that shared experience among friends.”
